National Loon Center announces partnership with shoe company Velaasa
Crosslake, MN: Executive Director of the National Loon Center, Jon Mobeck, announced this week a new partnership with Velaasa. Proceeds from the new Velaasa Raptor athletic shoe will benefit conservation efforts at the center.
“Velaasa values and embraces conservation ethics within its business model,” says Mobeck. “Their commitment to Minnesota’s loons and lakes is genuine and we are proud to partner with them.”
“We share the National Loon Center’s goal of preserving Minnesota’s incredible state bird.” said Lynden Reder, founder of Velaasa. “The long term goal is that loons will be healthy and thriving on Minnesota lakes for centuries. This new partnership and the launch of our special edition shoes will help us support the important efforts of the National Loon Center and we can’t wait to get started”.
The Velaasa Raptors pre-order begins Friday, June 18th with an on-going five dollars per pair donation being made to the National Loon Center to support their mission. Participating customers save 40% off the retail price at velaasa.com
Velaasa was formed by Lynden Reder, a former NCAA All-American and coach for the University of Minnesota track and field program. Velaasa designs and develops innovative athletic footwear and gear for Olympic sport athletes. Velaasa shoes were worn for two world championship gold medals in 2019, and will be worn again in the Tokyo Olympics this summer.
